The HSDJETS 2000mm Cessna-182 is a large high-wing propeller aircraft designed for stable handling, smooth scale flying, and confident everyday sport performance. Its 2000mm wingspan, functional flaps, integrated LED lighting, and fixed all-metal tricycle landing gear give the aircraft a substantial presence in the air while maintaining predictable flight characteristics.

The airframe is constructed from HSD’s lightweight AeroCore 35 Sport EPO. This material provides a practical balance of manageable weight, structural durability, and efficient flight performance. The large wing area and high-wing configuration contribute to stable handling, while the functional flaps help slow the aircraft for controlled approaches and shorter landings.

Power is provided by a factory-installed 5055-500KV brushless motor, Hobbywing 80A ESC, and 14.5 × 7 three-blade propeller. HSD recommends a 6S 5000–6000mAh 45C LiPo flight battery, delivering strong takeoff and climb performance with an estimated flight time of approximately 8–10 minutes depending on battery selection, throttle use, weather conditions, and flying style.

The HSD MFC-2065 multifunction control system organizes the aircraft’s installed electronics and simplifies receiver integration. Six high-voltage metal-gear servos operate the ailerons, flaps, elevator, and rudder. A separate 2S receiver battery powers the control system independently from the main propulsion battery.

Plug-N-Play Configuration

The PNP version includes the aircraft with the brushless motor, ESC, servos, MFC control system, LED lighting, and primary flight electronics installed. The customer must supply and install a compatible transmitter, receiver, flight battery, receiver battery, and LiPo charger.

Because radio systems and receiver installations vary, the pilot is responsible for completing receiver installation, channel assignment, control setup, failsafe programming, range testing, center-of-gravity verification, and all required preflight checks before operating the aircraft.

AeroCore 35 Sport EPO

The Cessna-182 uses HSD’s lightweight AeroCore 35 Sport EPO construction. This material is designed for electric sport aircraft where efficient performance, manageable wing loading, and predictable handling are important. The lightweight structure allows the Cessna-182 to deliver a large-aircraft flying experience without unnecessary airframe weight.

Stable High-Wing Performance

The high-wing layout and generous wing area help provide stable, confidence-inspiring flight characteristics. The Cessna-182 is well suited for relaxed scale flying, touch-and-go practice, smooth pattern work, and general sport operation from a suitable runway.

Functional flaps expand the aircraft’s operating envelope by allowing slower approaches and more controlled landings. The all-metal fixed landing gear provides a rugged foundation for repeated takeoffs and landings, while optional floats and an electromagnetic brake system allow the aircraft to be adapted for different flying environments.

MFC-2065 Control System

The factory-installed HSD MFC-2065 provides a centralized connection point for the aircraft’s controls and optional equipment. Four supplied receiver signal leads connect the customer’s receiver to the MFC system for throttle, aileron, elevator, rudder, flap, and other supported functions according to the aircraft manual and radio setup.

The MFC and installed servos use a separate 2S receiver battery. This independent control-power arrangement keeps the receiver and servos powered separately from the primary 6S propulsion battery.

PNP Completion Note

Setup Notes

Read the Manual Before Assembly

Review the complete Cessna-182 assembly and preflight manual before installing the receiver, connecting batteries, mounting the propeller, or operating the aircraft.

Radio Requirements

Use a transmitter and receiver with at least six channels. The radio system must support throttle, aileron, elevator, rudder, flaps, and any additional functions assigned through the MFC-2065.

Receiver Installation

Install the receiver securely inside the fuselage using suitable mounting material. Route and orient the receiver antennas according to the receiver manufacturer’s instructions. Keep antennas separated from high-current wiring, batteries, the ESC, and other potential sources of interference.

MFC-2065 Connections

Connect the receiver to the MFC-2065 using the supplied signal leads. Follow the aircraft manual’s channel map and wiring instructions. Do not assume that the channel order matches another HSD aircraft or a previous radio profile.

Separate Receiver Battery

The receiver, MFC, and installed servos require a separate 2S receiver battery. Use a fully charged 7.4V 2000–3000mAh LiPo battery with the correct XT60 connector. Secure it firmly so it cannot shift during flight.

Flight Battery

Use a properly rated 6S 5000–6000mAh 45C LiPo battery. Confirm the installed aircraft connector before purchasing or connecting a battery. Never force incompatible connectors or use an adapter that is not rated for the current demand of the power system.

Center of Gravity

Balance the fully assembled aircraft at 96mm behind the leading edge of the main wing. Check the center of gravity with the flight battery, receiver battery, receiver, and all normal flight equipment installed.

Propeller Safety

Remove the propeller during initial receiver installation and radio programming whenever practical. Treat the propeller as live whenever the flight battery is connected. Keep hands, clothing, tools, and loose objects away from the propeller arc.

Throttle Safety

Program and verify a throttle-cut or throttle-safety function before installing the propeller. Confirm that the throttle channel operates in the correct direction and that the motor cannot start unexpectedly when the aircraft is powered.

Control-Direction Check

Before every flight, verify that all controls move correctly.

Moving the aileron stick right should raise the right aileron and lower the left aileron.

Pulling the elevator stick back should raise the elevator.

Moving the rudder stick right should move the rudder to the right.

Both flaps should deploy evenly and return fully.

Do not fly if any surface moves in the wrong direction, binds, buzzes excessively, or fails to return consistently.

Servo Travel and Binding

Set control travel according to the aircraft manual. Check each servo at full travel and confirm that the control surfaces, pushrods, hinges, and linkages do not bind.

Flap Programming

Program the flaps to operate smoothly and evenly. Use transmitter servo slowdown when available. Confirm that both flap servos remain synchronized throughout their travel.

Failsafe

Program the receiver failsafe so the motor returns to a safe off condition if the radio signal is lost. Test the failsafe with the propeller removed whenever practical.

Range Test

Complete a full radio range test before the first flight and after any changes to the receiver, antennas, wiring, power system, or radio programming. Do not fly if the controls hesitate, twitch, disconnect, or behave unexpectedly.

Wing and Brace Installation

Install both wings, wing joiner tubes, braces, retaining hardware, and safety clips according to the manual. Do not fly with missing braces, loose hardware, damaged mounting points, or improperly seated wing tubes.

Landing Gear Inspection

Verify that the nose gear and both main landing-gear assemblies are securely installed. Confirm that the wheels rotate freely and that the wheel pants do not rub. Reinspect the landing gear after rough-field operation or a hard landing.

LED System

Confirm that the installed lighting system operates correctly after the receiver and MFC connections are completed. Secure all lighting wires so they cannot contact moving linkages or interfere with assembly.

First Flight

Use a large flying area with a smooth runway and light wind. Make the first takeoff with gradual throttle application and smooth control inputs. Climb to a safe altitude before making trim or flap evaluations.

Flight Timer

Begin with a conservative flight timer. Land early and measure the battery’s remaining capacity before increasing the timer on later flights. The published 8–10-minute estimate will vary with battery condition, throttle use, weather, propeller condition, and flying style.

Optional Equipment

Floats, electromagnetic brakes, stabilization equipment, telemetry sensors, and other accessories may require additional wiring, radio channels, installation procedures, and programming changes.
